Evening free at your leisure in London or choose our OPTIONAL tour (Royal London Morning Tour (L1) 8:15 AM) On this guided visit through London, tour the Tower of London before it is open to the public, complete with your own Yeoman Warder guide. Accompanied by a traditional Beefeater, you will see Traitors Gate, the scaffold site where prisoners where executed, and be the first in line to see the Crown Jewels. Following your tour, continue to view the icons of London on a panoramic drive, passing such sites as Westminster Abbey, Whitehall, Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, and Big Ben. When held, witness the Changing of the Guard* at Buckingham Palace. For Beatle fans, theres Brian Epsteins flat, Ringos Kings Road apartment, John and Yokos first home, Pauls current London home, the studio where the St Peppers cover was shot, Apple Office and boutique, EMI, Masons Yard, where the Mop Tops played their last ever live gig and lots more other Beatles and related landmarks. And, YES, you do get to walk across that famed ABBEY ROAD crossing. The tour also covers where Geldof conceived Band Aid and Live Aid, where and how the Sex Pistols was formed, the Clashs neighborhood also home to Bob Marley. There are heaps of sites to please Pink Floyd fans. We pass the homes of Freddie Mercury, Bowie, Bolan, Jimmy Page, Macca, Clapton, Van Morrison, to name a few and see where Jimi Hendix died. Begin your Rome tour of London and Rome vacation with a free day at leisure, or choose our OPTIONAL tour (3 Vatican Museums). This morning, depart from the Piazza San Bernardo, site of Moses Fountain, and travel along Via Bissolati and Via Veneto. Pass by Villa Borghese, one of Europes most elegant parks, and previous estate of the noble Borghese family. The tour continues to the Vatican Museum and Galleries, where you will find galleries of chandeliers, tapestries, geographical maps, the Sobiesky Hall and the Immaculate Conception Hall. From here, visit the Sistine Chapel and behold the great frescoes by Michelangelo. Passing through the Vatican Hall, continue to the Basilica of Saint Peter, one of the four major basilicas of Rome, and burial site of its namesake, Saint Peter. The last day of London and Rome tour, free day at leisure, or choose our OPTIONAL tour (#1 & 2 Rome with lunch 8:30 AM) This morning, depart Piazza San Bernardo, site of Moses Fountain, and continue to the Piazza della Repubblica. The walking tour is designed to take you through the ages of Rome, starting from St. Peters Basilica. Proceed to the famous Piazza Navona, erected over the ruins of Domitians Circus, before heading to the best preserved of all ancient Roman buildings, the Pantheon, whose original dome is the largest surviving from antiquity in the world. Stop and admire the Trevi Fountain, the largest and most exquisite baroque fountain in Rome. Continue to the square of the Capitol, and admire the unique sight of the Forum, Colosseum and Palatine Hill, one of Romes most ancient districts. Walk along the pavement of the original Roman grid, which crosses the ruins of the Roman Forum, the Curia, and the Reggia. Enjoy views of the Temple of Vesta, the Arch of Titus and the Triumphal Arch of Constantine. Continue with an inside tour of the Colosseum, a giant amphitheater used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles, and the largest building ever built in the Roman Empire. The tour concludes with a visit to the church of St. Peter in Chains, where Michelangelos famous statue of Moses is housed. Departs at 8:30 a.m. from Via V. E. Orlando, 95.
