View Panathenian Stadium, the Presidential Residence, the ruins of the Temple of Zeus and Hadrians Arch. Continue on to visit the Acropolis, the ancient architectural masterpiece built during the Golden Age of Athens. Finally, visit the new Acropolis Museum, the striking modern building built at the base of the monument where many of the original statues from the Acropolis are now displayed. Departs at 8:45 a.m. Pick-up from hotel approximately 30-60 minutes prior to departure time. Tour ends at hotel.

| Day 4: Thursday - Athens, optional Cruise to Hydra |
|
|
Free morning at leisure or choose our optional tour (1 Day Cruise to Hydra with lunch). This morning, travel by bus from Athens to Marina Trokadero to embark for a cruise to Hydra Island. Upon arrival, enjoy time at leisure to explore Hydra on your own, or opt for a relaxing swim in the islands clear waters. Afterwards, board your ship and sail for via Poros and the shores of Peloponnisos to Aegina, located in the centre of the Argosaronic Gulf. After lunch on board, arrive at Aegina and enjoy time to swim or opt for an excursion by coach to the well-preserved temple of Afea Athena, which can be purchased on your ship. Finally, sail back to Trokadero. Return to your hotel in Athens.

| Day 5: Friday - Athens, Rome, Optional Illuminated Rome by Night |

After breakfast, optional transfer to Athens airport for your flight to Rome, upon arrival optional transfer from Rome airport to your hotel.
Evening you may choose our optional tour (#8 Illuminated Rome by Night 8:00 PM) This evening, depart Piazza San Bernardo for an illuminated tour of Romes historic piazzas and fountains. Along the way to the famous Piazza della Repubblica, enjoy flood-lit views of the Palazzo Margherita, Porta Pinciana, Villa Borghese, Piazzale Flaminio, Via Flaminia, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, and Via del Corso. Arriving at the Piazza della Repubblica, visit Trevi Fountain, the largest and most exquisite Baroque fountain in Rome, before continuing along the Via Quattro Fontane to view the equally impressive, Fountains of the Four Seasons. From Piazza Venezia, enjoy charming views of the Memorial of King Vittorio Emanuele II and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. From this prime vantage point, admire the Capitol, Imperial Forum, Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Aventine Hill, Circus Maximus, and the Great Synagogue, overlooking the former Jewish ghetto. | Day 6: Saturday - Rome, Optional Vatican Museum & Ancient Rome Tours |

After breakfast, free day at your lesiure or you may choose our optional tour (#3 Vatican Museums) This morning, depart from the Piazza San Bernardo, site of Moses Fountain, and travel along Via Bissolati and Via Veneto. Pass by Villa Borghese, one of Europes most elegant parks, and previous estate of the noble Borghese family. The tour continues to the Vatican Museum and Galleries, where you will find galleries of chandeliers, tapestries, geographical maps, the Sobiesky Hall and the Immaculate Conception Hall. From here, visit the Sistine Chapel and behold the great frescoes by Michelangelo. Passing through the Vatican Hall, continue to the Basilica of Saint Peter, one of the four major basilicas of Rome, and burial site of its namesake, Saint Peter. Please note that on Wednesdays during the Holy Fathers Audience, the visit inside St. Peters Basilica will not take place. Departs at 7:30 a.m. (Apr - Oct) and 8:30 a.m. (Nov - Mar) from Via V. E. Or you may choose our afternoon optional tour (#2 Ancient Rome) Todays tour will feature the classic splendor of the Roman Empire. Leave Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses Fountain, and head to Piazza Venezia where you will admire the Memorial to King Vittorio Emanuele II and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Continue to the square of the Capitol, and admire the unique sight of the Forum, Colosseum and Palatine Hill, one of Romes most ancient districts. Walk along the pavement of the original Roman grid, which crosses the ruins of the Roman Forum, the Curia, and the Reggia. Enjoy views of the Temple of Vesta, the Arch of Titus and the Triumphal Arch of Constantine. After Breakfast, Free day at your lesiure or you may choose our optional tour (#13 Naples & Pompeii with lunch from Rome 7:15 AM) Depart Rome in the early morning for a pleasant drive along the "Sun Route" motorway, taking you through the scenic regions of Lazio and Campania. Pass the famous Abbey of Montecassino en route to Naples where you will enjoy a short panoramic tour of the city. Continue toward Pompeii for lunch in a typical restaurant, followed by a short visit to a nearby coral and cameo factory. Afterward, visit the excavated ruins of this incredibly well preserved Roman town, destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Departs at 7:15 a.m. from Via V. E. Orlando, 95. Pick-up from hotel 45 minutes prior to departure time. Drop-off in city center.
