Discover the history and romance of Venice, Florence, and Rome with this amazing package. In Venice, perhaps visit St. Marks Basilica, a symbol of Venice wealth and power throughout the ages, or the Doges Palace where important meetings of state were held. The Palace is now a museum and available for those who visit to walk through and see the history that took place in the building over the years. You could take a water taxi around the narrow canals, visit the Rialto Market to see how the local Venetians buy their fresh food, or walk the streets of St. Mark’s Square which has been the city center for centuries. Day 1: Monday - Depart USA
Depart the USA to Italy for Venice, Florence and Rome tour. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.
Day 2: Tuesday - Arrive Venice
Welcome to Venice. Transfer independently from the airport to your hotel, Free day at your leisure. ( B )
Day 3: Wednesday - Venice, Optional Tours
After breakfast, morning free at your Leisure or you may choose our OPTIONAL tour (Walking Tour of Venice 9:10 AM) This tour begins with an orientation of St. Marks Square, considered the historical heart of the city, and continues to visit the Golden Basilica of San Marco* with its mysterious interior, lavish mosaics, and decorations of Occidental and Oriental design. Proceed to the 14th century Doges Palace, whose facade comprises a massive Gothic gate on the Piazzetta side, known as the Porta Della Carta. Continue to the rear of the palace to view the Bridge of Sighs. The tour ends with an optional visit to a glass blowing factory on Murano Island. For security reasons, bags are not allowed inside the Basilica. A free-of-charge holding station is available. Due to Mass, San Marco Basilica is closed for visitations on Sundays, and during any religious ceremonies and holy feast days. In this case, visits will exclude interior views of the church. Likewise, Doges Palace is closed on Dec 25, Jan 1, and May 1. Departs daily at 9:10 a.m. from the Tourist Information Office in St. Marks Square, at 71/F Piazza San Marco in front of the Correr Museum. Drop-off at Tourist Information Office in St. Marks Square.

Evening free at leisure or you may choose our OPTIONAL tour (Gondola Serenade) This evening, enjoy one of the highlights of any Italian holiday Enjoy a relaxing gondola ride with music along the famous Grand Canal, and experience a piece of Venetian history. Glide along the centuries old canals, past lavish palaces and under famous arched bridges (the Gondola holds a maximum of six passengers. Please note that this is not a private gondola ride. Gondolas may depart in groups, with one singer offered per group). ( B )

Day 4: Thursday - Venice, Florence
This morning, transfer independently to the rail station for your trip to Florence. Upon arrival in Florence, transfer independently to your hotel and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure. ( B )
Day 5: Friday - Florence, Optional Tours
After breakfast, free at leisure or you may choose our OPTIONAL tour (Florence Morning City Tour ) This morning, depart by coach for a short stop at Piazzale Michelangelo, one of the most ideal vantage points of Florence. Continue on to visit the Accademia of Fine Arts to admire Michelangelos David. Next, tour the Piazza del Duomo in the heart of Florence to view the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Battistero di San Giovanni, and the Campanile of Giotto.

Evening free at leisure or you may choose our OPTIONAL tour (Half Day Chianti Tour 2:30 PM) Enjoy a relaxing drive to visit the heart of the Tuscan countryside in the Chianti region, where Italys most famous red wine is produced. View the spectacular setting of green hills, cypress trees, olive groves and endless rows of grape vines. During the tour there will be a visit to Monteriggioni, one of Italys most well known medieval walled towns, and a stop for a tasting of the regions wine and small snacks. Departs at 2:30 p.m. from Via Santa Caterina da Siena, 15/17, Platform 9. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure. ( B )

Day 6: Saturday - Florence, Optional Tour
After breakfast, free day at leisure or you may choose our OPTIONAL tour (Siena & San Gimignano from Florence) Enjoy a full day excursion that takes you to three of the loveliest towns in the Chianti area: Siena and the medieval walled towns of Monteriggioni and San Gimignano. First, travel to San Gimignano, a medieval town of Etruscan origin. Built by early noble families, the fourteen remaining stone towers that line the ramparts of the town create one of the areas most beautiful skylines. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the towns narrow lanes and squares. From here, drive to Monteriggioni, a small medieval town, built in 1213, that is one of Italys most well known walled towns. Next, relax on a scenic ride through the Italian countryside to Siena, admiring the ever-changing scenery of vineyards and scarped olive groves en route. Upon arrival, enjoy a walking tour with a local guide to view the Cathedral, the unique fan-shaped Piazza del Campo, and the Palazzo Comunale. End your day with a tour and tasting at a famous wine estate in the Chianti Classico area. ( B )
Day 7: Sunday - Florence, Rome Optional Tour
After breakfast, Transfer independently to the rail station for your trip to Rome. Upon arrival in Rome, transfer independently to your hotel.

Night free at your Leisure or you can choose our OPTIONAL tour (8 Illuminated Rome by Night) This evening, depart Piazza San Bernardo for an illuminated tour of Romes historic piazzas and fountains. Along the way to the famous Piazza della Repubblica, enjoy flood-lit views of the Palazzo Margherita, Porta Pinciana, Villa Borghese, Piazzale Flaminio, Via Flaminia, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, and Via del Corso. Arriving at the Piazza della Repubblica, visit Trevi Fountain, the largest and most exquisite Baroque fountain in Rome, before continuing along the Via Quattro Fontane to view the equally impressive, Fountains of the Four Seasons. From Piazza Venezia, enjoy charming views of the Memorial of King Vittorio Emanuele II and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. From this prime vantage point, admire the Capitol, Imperial Forum, Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Aventine Hill, Circus Maximus, and the Great Synagogue, overlooking the former Jewish ghetto. Conclude this fascinating tour of the Eternal City by night with views of the Castel SantAngelo and St. Peters Basilica on your return. ( B )

Day 8: Monday - Rome, Optional Tour
After breakfast, free day at leisure or you may choose our OPTIONAL tour (#1 & 2 Rome with lunch) This morning, depart Piazza San Bernardo, site of Moses Fountain, and continue to the Piazza della Repubblica. The walking tour is designed to take you through the ages of Rome, starting from St. Peters Basilica. Proceed to the famous Piazza Navona, erected over the ruins of Domitians Circus, before heading to the best preserved of all ancient Roman buildings, the Pantheon, whose original dome is the largest surviving from antiquity in the world. Stop and admire the Trevi Fountain, the largest and most exquisite baroque fountain in Rome. Continue to the square of the Capitol, and admire the unique sight of the Forum, Colosseum and Palatine Hill, one of Romes most ancient districts. Walk along the pavement of the original Roman grid, which crosses the ruins of the Roman Forum, the Curia, and the Reggia. Enjoy views of the Temple of Vesta, the Arch of Titus and the Triumphal Arch of Constantine. Continue with an inside tour of the Colosseum, a giant amphitheater used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles, and the largest building ever built in the Roman Empire. The tour concludes with a visit to the church of St. Peter in Chains, where Michelangelos famous statue of Moses is housed. ( B )
Day 9: Tuesday - Rome, Optional Tour
Last day of Venice, Florence and Rome tour, free day at your leisure or you may choose our OPTIONAL tour (#3 Vatican Museums 8:30 AM) depart from the Piazza San Bernardo, site of Moses Fountain, and travel along Via Bissolati and Via Veneto. Pass by Villa Borghese, one of Europes most elegant parks, and previous estate of the noble Borghese family. The tour continues to the Vatican Museum and Galleries, where you will find galleries of chandeliers, tapestries, geographical maps, the Sobiesky Hall and the Immaculate Conception Hall. From here, visit the Sistine Chapel and behold the great frescoes by Michelangelo. Passing through the Vatican Hall, continue to the Basilica of Saint Peter, one of the four major basilicas of Rome, and burial site of its namesake, Saint Peter. Please note that on Wednesdays during the Holy Fathers Audience, the visit inside St. Peters Basilica will not take place. Departs at 7:30 a.m. (Apr - Oct) and 8:30 a.m. (Nov - Mar) from Via V. E. Orlando, 95. Pick-up from hotel 45 minutes prior to departure time (between 6:30 a.m. and 7:15 a.m for Apr - Oct and between 7:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m for Nov - Mar). Drop-off in city center. Please note that conservative clothing should be worn when visiting the Vatican, meaning legs and shoulders should be covered. ( B )
Day 10: Wednesday - Departure
After breakfast, optional transfer to Rome airport for your departure flight. ( B )
